Counseling Services.

A confidential, supportive space for every student. We are here to listen and to help.

Our Role

Role of School Counselors

School counselors at Asperion support students across academic, personal, and social dimensions. Academic counseling helps students with subject choices, study habits, and managing workload; we work with teachers and tutors when useful, always with the student’s consent. Personal counseling offers a confidential space for worries about relationships, identity, stress, or family—anything that affects how a student feels or performs.

We also support social development: navigating friendships, conflict, and belonging in a diverse community. All guidance is confidential within the limits of safeguarding: we do not share what students tell us unless there is a risk to their or others’ safety, in which case we follow clear procedures and involve the minimum necessary people. Our aim is that every student knows they have someone to turn to who will listen and help without judgment.

How It Works

Counseling Process

Students can access support by dropping in during designated times, asking their tutor or year head for a referral, or emailing the counseling team directly. Appointments are usually scheduled within a few days; in urgent cases we prioritise same-day or next-day contact.

The appointment process is simple: we find a time that fits the student’s schedule and meet in a private room. What is said in sessions remains confidential unless the student agrees to share information (for example with parents or teachers) or we have a safeguarding duty to disclose. Our confidentiality policy is explained at the first meeting so that students know exactly what to expect.
